"Somewhere down the line, it might become the answer to a trivia question: Who was the first local person hired to go on-air at ESPN Radio Boston (890 and 1400 AM)?
The answer: Kevin Winter.
"One reason Winter was attractive to ESPN Boston was his work in Bristol, Conn., doing ''SportsCenter" updates. He's expected to do just that on the local version of the segment, with Boston news and features. He reported for duty at the station's Charlestown studios yesterday, and could start appearing on air as soon as tomorrow. Winter's primary assignment is to be a key part of the station's upcoming local show, expected to air during the 4-7 p.m. slot on weekdays."<P ID="signature">______________
