Globe: WEEI offers apology (D&C)

I can just see the bloated Dennis now: "I'm weely weely sawww-weeee. I pwomise I won't do it again. Can I still have my lolipop?"

I remember Howie Carr doing a segment on this family, and laying out who was related to whom and how the guy walked. I guess he didn't defame them to the extent D&C did.

Maybe it was one thing to say whom they were all related to but quite another to say that they
used their influence to get out of a legal jam--and if the latter was NOT the case, hence the apology.

>>The family was outraged after Dennis and his combustible co host Gerry Callahan falsely accused members of the Doyle family of interceding on behalf of a relative charged with a serious crime. "They made statements that 'the fix was in,' that my clients had made calls," said attorney Howard Cooper, who represents the Doyles

So let's see, Howie says he successfully sued Imus (ok, a settlement), and Andelman libeled Joe Nameth by saying he didn't show up to his Football camps, and settled with Broadway Joe. Now Dennis: I can't think of any others, but many, many people have been slandered over the last 40 years.

The point is defamation is very hard to prove. But sometime you can score a settlement just so the defendant can avoid fees and the potential of a judgement for.

I wish D will lose his Voice . One of my wish, came true .
