Globe's Clea Simon on Boston talkers in "Talkers"

http://www.boston.com/news/globe/living/articles/2007/03/02/area_talk_hosts_among_bizs_best/

Mentions how Howie, Dennis & Callahan, and Jay Severin are on the TALKERS list...

>>The conservative Rush Limbaugh is ranked No. 1 , "just because of his ratings," says Harrison. But progressive talk-host Stephanie Miller also makes the list, at No. 36 , and even the occasional public radio host, such as NPR's Diane Rehm , appears, at No. 91

she mentions Howie's show is only 3-6 pm on Fridays. Well it was THIS Friday but not all the time...?

"And Howie Carr is . . . the heir to the great local characters that have marked Boston radio over the years." Harrison names Jerry Williams and Gene Burns as examples. Carr, he notes, "is in that tradition."

The list is often controversial; some have suggested that advertisers to TALKERS get treated well.
Some will feel there are snubs, and a few names that don't belong on there; etc

The same can be said of ANY "top 100" list of any subject. By definition these lists are totally subjective.
