Gloria Allred Gets Court Show

I'm boycotting most local and network daytime TV anyway. ::) I'll usually end up watching cable if anything on a day when I'm off like today.

Another sign that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are done putting their boots on and have already headed out to the stables.

If anybody ever wanted to drive me insane, probably the best and quickest way would be to lock me in a room with 2 TVs - one tuned to Gloria Allred, and the other to Nancy Grace.

How much is Byron Allen paying the NBC stations to air this show? His current court production, America's Court with Judge Ross is the cheapest looking court show since Jury Duty from a few years back. It also barely registers in the Nielsen ratings and is coming back for a second season.

How does Byron Allen sell so many low-budget, low-rated shows to TV stations, and make money?

@Eric: Have you ever seen "Judge Karen's Court"? If "Judge Ross" is as low-budget as you describe it to be, look up "Judge Karen" and see if it's any worse. Note: the show is carried by the America One television network (think a merged My Network TV and Universal Sports for low-power television stations) and it's distributed by a syndicator that does not bear a household name.

@LKeller: If both of those programs were solely sponsored by Progressive Insurance, that would be the ultimate hell! :mad:

I've seen Judge Karen's Court, and clearances aside, I still think it's a better product than America's Court. The ratings, despite still being lower than a one rating, is still slightly better than Judge Ross.

I know they sell paranoia as long as the money is flowing.

Several months ago here in Connecticut MY TV 9 moved America's Court from 1PM to 4AM in order to add CASH CAB to their Line-up at 4PM, sliding one of those goofy Law & Order dramas to the 1PM hour.

No more court shows...more infomercials instead! ;D

And then when it gets cancelled she'll sue the distributor, stating that their decision to cancel her show is "a cruel tactic enacted deceitfully by a malevolent corporation." Or something like that. ;D

FC3K: You're probably right... ::)

I'd rather watch Judge Roy Bean than "Judge Gloria."

I'd settle for animated fare from MIke Judge before most courtroom shows - barring an aforementioned return of Judge Wapner, of course...
