Glory days of the Hardline

What years, in your opinion, we're the hardest (glory days) of the Hardline?

My knee jerk recall is mid-mid 90's. Seemed better back when they were new and green.

The hardline sounds fine to me.

The last year or so with Greggo was horrible and nearly unlistenable. The one thing that sticks in my mind is when he stopped Rhyner down to ask him if Rhyner liked his orange socks.

What the...?

And the make up of the show now is fine with me. Thank GOD they didn't go with Richie Whitt.

I remember when they added Cobra (around 2000). It took Rhyner a while to warm up to him, but he settled in and they now have great chemistry. Now that Dan Paul contributes more, it's a much funnier show.

I listened to Greggo a little yesterday and while he sounds fine, he's just blah.

The Hardlines glory days are gone. Corby is such a ******bag. The show is a shell of it's former self.

Rhyner (he isn't dead, just disinterested) is coasting on the coat-tails of Corby (+1 dfwradioman79) and Dan Paul. Danny brings something to the show, Corby's "act" has become a vuvuzela.

Hardline = dichotomy. The 13 year old boy in me think it's a fun listen. The much older, wiser part of me thinks "what a waste of my time!" With a 40 minute drive home everyday, the 13 year old often wins out.

I've been there since the beginning, so I think I have heard a great deal of shows. I think the show has regained a little something, humor-wise, since they have gotten passed the exodus of Greggo. The sports side of the show is really lacking and has been for some time. If there is a big story, i.e Big 12 or breaking rangers or cowboys, major national story, then things are ok. But when there is not much going on, they better hope for some good e-news happenings.
As for the best days, I can't remember the timeline, but when Mike and Greg had Followill on tickers, Expo on the board and Cat producing, then 2-5 and 3-6 was can't-miss radio. Anybody who heard the infamous 'screw call' knows what I mean. Besides, the best sports arguments are left for the bar. Let's get the basics and some humor out of the dial, 'cause we all know it's fun to be able to laugh a little bit.

Pittsburgh Dave

Back when Gen X Davey was doing tickers. It has gone downhill ever since.

Mike is so clearly disinterested. The show has basically become the Corby and Danny show with guest host Mike Rhyner.

It's the only show on 1310 I don't listen to.

I think the glory days were a decade ago; back when Mike was still interested, Greg wasn't out to lunch, and Snake was still a yuck monkey.

The show is a shadow of it's former self, but still better than anything in it's time slot, which is really all that matters. You don't have to outrun the bear, you just have to outrun the guy standing next to you.

Snake is sounding more Roccoish (opinionated, but clueless) every day. Danny brings nothing (anyone heard the Orpanage - it should be renamed "Beavis and Butthead do a Radio Show"). I think Mike is asleep most of the show, and I miss his greatness. How many segments about "insert-has-been-60s-rock-band-here" can one show do? Dylan/Neil Young haven't had that much airplay or discussion in 30 years.

Would you prefer they talk about Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber? ;D

Sadly, if I had to choose between that and listening to the 57th segment about Neil Young, yes....
