GO Country vs KTPI

I was reading a article about Go Country is extending there coverage into the Ridgecrest and Antelope Valley area on 98.5FM. Will this give 97.7 KTPI some competition?

KTPI is a hole-in-the-wall radio station, I live in palmdale, and they dont even have a website, and they dont stream online, so your comparing an ant to a horse, , KTPI has a very low covergae area, just from Acton to maybe California City, on the Kern County side.
there signal isnt very poweful at all. i looked at the radiated power for the new KGIL FM, owned by mount Wilson and its only 340 watts, a joke of a station for the Indian Wells area, it wont hurt KTPI at all, seeing how they are in different areas of each other.

KGIL-FM will be in the town of Johannesburg, nerar Randsburg in Kern County. So, James, are you saying that with only 340 watts, the station may as well be in Johannesburg, South Africa? :)

no LAradiorewind, im saying the coverage of KGIL fm wont even be near enough to KTPI coverage area to actually affect them, KTPI is mainly heard in Palmdale, Lancaster, Rosamond, and Mohave. and most listeners of KTPI reside in Palmdale, Lancaster, and the other communities i mentioned. if you go up farther north KGIL will pretty much cover those listeners, who enjoy todays country music, like i said KTPI can only be heard on 97.7 FM, it used to be on 103.1 FM its former home since 1981 when it signed on to that signal, and if it was on 103.1 FM, which it is not, then we would talk competition, as 103.1 FM stretches up towards Ridgecrest area. i think this would actually compliment the area, the only real competition would be 93.7 Fm the coyote. as it is nearby.

The new owner is fighting Clear Channel over the KTPI website. Clear Channel still has the rights to ktpi.com apparently so as soon as that battle is over ktpi.com will eventually be turned over to the new owners.
That signal switch thing that Clear Channel Radio did with KTPI was smart on their part but, your 100% right about how KTPI signal sucks at 97.7 FM. You can hear them in Victorville and Barstow depending on where you are at.

As far as the coverage of Go Country's 98.5 signal you can't hear them in Victorville but, you can hear KDES from the Palm Springs area with static.
