time for our annual tradition. who is going to go to all-Christmas and when? Rose 101.3 already putting their survey on their website. any suprising guesses?

The Rose will have Christmas all to itself this year, unless of course Cumulus flips the lackluster 106.7 to Christmas in anticipation of a January 1st format change.

Here's a scoop: Cumulus if flipping WINK103 to all Christmas, but not WINK104. Not sure when it will happen.

Well that wouldn't make any sense, considering all the billboards they've done for the new WINK 103 in the last couple of months, but then a lot of things in the radio biz don't make much sense of late.

I doubt the WINK's flip to Christmas. I also believe you're just handing all the females to the Rose if they are the only Christmas station. The idea of 1067 flipping before a format change in the new year makes perfect sense. In fact, there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't flip now.

If I remember correctly (and my wife concurs), 1390AM started November 1 last year, but nothing yet this year

I heard on Wink 103 today that starting on Black Friday, they will be playing Christmas music MIXED with today's best music. So, it appears they will be following the same holiday music mix that Wink 104 has been using. In a diary, if someone just puts "Wink" instead of Wink 103, Wink 104, WNNK, or WARM, how is it determined which station they were listening to? The stations aren't simulcasting, although they do follow the same playlist. Each station has its own set of DJs with 104 clearly targeting Harrisburg and 103 clearly targeting York/Lancaster.

With this being the case, look for another Cumulus station to make the switch to all Christmas REAL soon. They're not going to let THE ROSE have all of the available Christmas spike. Whatever station they choose, will most likely be the one they plan to blow up. My money is on 106.7.

As I understand it for people living in York County who write WINK the credit with go to 103. For people living in Dauphin County who write WINK the credit will go to 104. For the rest of the market, it might come down to splitting the credit between the two stations. However, one thing to remember is that very few people use just an identified like WINK anymore. The vast majority of diary keepers use dial position rather than a station name/slogan.

101 The Rose made their switch today. 2 factors I believe were in play there.

1: 103 wasn't going all Christmas like they did in the past.

2: Michael C and Ronnie got their hair painted red and green and it made them feel festive.

Thought for sure 1067 would flip to Christmas ahead of a format flip in January. It'll be interesting to see if the Rose gets a "huge" Christmas bonus by being the only one....AMs don't count......

Well it hasn't happened. Advantage: Rose
