I have noticed that Lifetime is also airing "The Golden Palace", which is basically "The Golden Girls" without Bea Arthur. I was under the impression The Golden Palace didn't even get a full season run. How long did the Golden Palace run on television before it was cancelled?

The Golden Palace ran on CBS on Friday nights at 8:00 P.M.(Eastern Time) from September 18th 1992 to August 6th 1993. It got a full season run but it couldn't compete with ABC's Family Matters and FOX's America's Most Wanted.

And now about the remark made by Blanche saying Sweet Jesus. It could have been that she had used an expletive like Sweet "blank" Jesus and that is why you will not hear it because it is an expletive. Which season did this episode come from?

I remember this episode and have seen it many times since on Lifetime. Lifetime seems to have deleted the expletive of Blanche saying Sweet "blank" Jesus. The next time you see this episode on Lifetime,turn on the captions on the TV and possibly you will see what it says there. In the meantime when the Season 3 DVD's of The Golden Girls come out you will hear it all in its entirety.

it just hit me what the line was..."Sweet Jesus watch us over this our hour of need"

So it wasn't an expletive that Lifetime deleted out of the episode? Why would Lifetime delete something like this and leave only Sweet Jesus and yet on other shows expletives aren't deleted out? Bad on Lifetime's part in deleting that.

nope..it was that quote that got muted/deleted from that scene

Re: I Remember This Episode: Blanche and Rose Play Nuns

Having seen this episode dozens of times (Big GG fan here), the full quote was:

Dorothy: That means we could be trapped together for days!
Blanche: Oh Jesus!

{Uncle Angelo, a supposed priest, looks at Blanche, dressed as a nun, in shock}

Blanche: Please protect us and watch over us in this, our time of need.
Dorothy: Amen!

Apparently, the reason for the muting in later reruns (which from what I could recall, was ALWAYS edited on Lifetime reruns), wasn't for an explicitive word. It was the fact that Blanche said, "Oh Jesus" as in using his name in vein. The editing is actually the second syllable of Jesus, so it sounds like Blanche is only saying, "Oh Jeeze".
