According to AllAccess.com - Karson With A K has ended his stay here at Q107.5. Now with me as just the Production guy I'm not privy to what any details are, BUT I knew something was up when I had to replace all the commercials he'd voiced.

Then ... the locksmiths came. And we all know what that means.

So dude I know you read this board - Good Luck - God Speed and Stay Safe.
 
Maybe Chris wants to do mornings. Maybe he pissed off George Flinn. Maybe...hell, does it really matter? Good luck to him in his next gig. It probably wont be the crazy adventure he had on Mt. Moriah.
 
Very sorry that happened to you, Karson. No one wants to be sent to the beach, despite the nice weather. Two important post-employment points:

1. Read your contract. It means what it says, and applies to BOTH parties, and,

2. Take your non-compete seriously. Those Mt. Moriah lawyers certainly do.

Karson, I am totally out of the Q 107.5 demo, and I didn't listen very much...but you guys were really good.

Karson I wish you the best of luck also. I don't think you will have trouble moving on to something better. Your successful run and the morning ratings at Q should be good enough.
 
Karson is a class act. I have been mixing for Q107.5 for years. Karson was a fan of my talent both mixing and I also was up for a night gig a few years back. I only hope Karson and I can work together again..

He is a great PD and will not sit for long!!!!
 
:mad: Morning radio in Memphis will never be the same! I always started my day with Karson and Kennedy! I've met Karson personally on several occasions at various events, and he's always been extremely friendly and professional, not to mention entertaining! Flynn is making a HUGE mistake, do NOT get me started on that sleeze. We will miss you Karson. Good luck in your next venture, and be sure and keep us updated on your next gig via myspace. (yes, I am one of your MANY buddies!) lol..
 
This makes absolutely no sense.

Then again, it is Flinn.

Q 107.5 has run neck-and-neck with FM 100 in the ratings for two years. And they've done it with 4,000 watts vs. 300,000. As for Flinn, I'm starting to believe that his broadcasting empire is a house of cards. For all the talk about how deep his pockets are, his flagship operation is in a dog house in the hood. If you had zillions of dollars and any sense of pride, why would you stay in such an awful facility?
 
I just heard about Karson. The guys on Mt. Moriah have been known to make some bad decisions. This guy worked his ass off...got really good ratings, improving every quarter, ..and gave the station a personality. Now they have to start all over. I remember Kramer (with a K) a while back. Some visionary let him go….we all know how that turned out. Perhaps managment will figure out sometime soon that occasionally the talent is worth paying 10 more bucks for a live spot, or 100 bucks more for a remote, even when the market is paying even more than that increase. Rock 103 had that happen to them as well. Arrogant "suits" that step on a dollar to save a nickel.

Karson is a talented, experienced communicator. Those kind of guys are very hard to find these days...in any business.

please let him know if he wants to come down and enjoy a wonderful steak dinner he is welcome to call anytime.

Sorry to hear the news bro. Hopefully you will land on your feet quicker than I did. I just started mornings at FYX in Texarkana. You are a really good talent and I am sure you will wind up in situation better than the one you were in while in Memphis. Keep your head up... and keep the credit card in your wallet!!!!
