Gone?

For the past few years 91.9 FM in Cleveland has been an "Air-One" affiliate. I haven't heard them in a while. "Air-One" continues on 90.9FM (out of Huron?). Were they not getting enough financial support during pledge drives to continue? They only had ... what was it ... 5 watts, but their small wattage did a magnificent job of covering a good chunk of the market, at least on car radios, until the religious station in Brunswick signed on the same frequency.

My guess looking at the coverage map of WKJA 91.9 FM that t he Air1 translator on 91.9 likely had to go off air because of the new full power FM near Cleveland on the same frequency.

They were both on-air for quite some time, although you now had to be near the city to hear Air-one. That's too bad as Air-One is unique with its "Positive Rock" format, and WKJA, from what I've heard, is just another garden variety religious station.

91.9, the Air1 LPFM which broadcasts from a cell phone tower near W11th Street right in the city, requested a temporary off-air authorization while they "study interference problems". Well, no kidding! Once WKJA came on 91.9 with 25KW.

I suspect they will try for another 2nd adjacent channel.

By the way, there is no way that station was running just 5 watts!

90.9 is likely W215BS/Hinckley, which is also the feeder for W273BL/102.5 Akron. Well, for now.
