Gonna miss WIBC

When WIBC goes to 93.1 FM I'll no longer be able to listen in my car. I'm usually anywhere from Crawdfordsville to Evansville and am a loyal listener. What would it take for them to also be heard on XM's regional channels like WLW? I'm gonna miss it!

WLW, WLS & even WXNT will probably pick up listeners. Any predictions as to what 12+ share 93.1 WIBC will have?
I'll predict an eventual 7.3 12+. That's based on their broader exposure to the many folks who don't know what AM is as well as the solid coverage 24/7 in all metro counties where ratings are sampled. Disclaimer : My predictions are lousy on a good day, but I wish them well.

Sounds like you drive a 70's or early 80's model. I didn't have FM in my own car until the end of '86.

Fat chance. WLW is owned by Clear Channel, which has its hooks in XM. WIBC is owned by Emmis.

I believe he is referring to WIBC-1070's monster daytime signal reaching further downstate than 93.1 based on his Crawfordsville to Evansville travel..
I can usually pick up 1070 on I-70 from Vandalia IL all the way into Indy on I-70 (daytime) but 93.1 isn't receivable until past Terre Haute.

When I lived in Indy, I couldn't get any of the Indy FM's in my car until almost halfway between Indy and Terre Haute. WRZX was the first one I'd get and the last one I'd lose. Of course, I had a 1990 Geo Prizm with a terrible radio!

Nope, I drive a 2001 model and 93.1 starts to die in Clay Co. It can be reached in Montgomery Co. but when traveling South on U.S. 41 it can't be heard. I listen to Garrison's show. I can get Rush on somewhere else. Will 1070 keep the WIBC calls and will they still use the Chuck Riley ID on FM?
