Finally, All the dust is settling around the Loss of KFRC ! Actually its great they are gone!! KYA is back with 6000 songs, thats 5,900 more than KFRC had !!! I listened to KYA in the 60 s and its great to hear it back on the stream! Although the Chris Edwards is NOT the same Chris Edwards on the air from the sixties its free and no commercials!! He does play your requests and has all the old KYA jingles just as they were !!Dont be fooled when 1260 KYA was broadcasting from the Bottom of the Mark Hopkins Hotel this guy Chris Edwards White was not affiliated with KYA1260 and never worked with "The Emperor Gene Nelson" or Bwana Johnny or Bill Holley or Tall Tom Campbell or Russ "the Moose" or Howard Clark or The Gorgeous "Candi Chamberlin" or Johnny Holliday or Roger W Morgan, his music is great ,too bad you cant listen to it in the car!! XM takes care of that for you !! At 12.95 a month for XM its about 44 cents a day for XM !!That is a Bargain !! So we have no problem with KFRC gone !! CBS will probably loose a few $$ on this drastic move !! XM will not change formats on you!! Kenny in Concord

yada yada yada yada yada your beginning to sound like a broken record. You've got your point accross and it is well received but enough is enough! Take a deep breath already! Exhale slowly and not in this direction! Please!

Radio Star one ,relax after a long run with King of Repitition (KFRC) I want people to know theres alternitives to the so called loss of KFRC!! 2006 will go down in history as a great year ,99.7 is keeping all the ladies happy with the new format and We Get AnotherFour Years of Arnold ,Life is Good!! Im enjoying KYA right now while Im writing this e mail , Funny KFRC never played what KYA is playing now, "Share the Land" Guess Who 1970!! I rest my case Radio Star See Ya

Another Vern fan, swear to God this Vern character/fake Chris sent me a resume years
ago in it he purportred to work at CKLW. Lying sack.

Nurse Jeff and I think you just made the case AGAINST KYA! By playing such non-hits as "Share The Land" (and many many others), KYA took early retirement to KFRC, which stuck to playing the hits. A 6,000 title playlist may work for internet streaming or satellite radio, but it's the kiss of death for an over the air broadcaster trying to reach a large audience.

May not be a big one in "The Bay".......But it peeked at #10 in 11/70 as a national hit on Billboard/Cashbox and a major top ten in the Great White North....

I for one will not pay for any radio!

Thanks for the info Dr Akbar and Nurse Jeff!! Get it right! KYA1260 sold out to Bonneville in 1983!!KFRC had nothing to do with it!! KFRC bought out KYA 93.3 in April of 1994 and turned it to Young Country It Failed Not Enough cowboys in the Bay area!! Now its Spanish , Terrific! I think The Guess Who has more hits than you and the Nurse Together !!As you see "Share The Land " made it to #10 in 1970 !! How many hits did you have in 1970?? You sound a little disturbed KFRC is Gone!!Oh well onward KYA and its sream of 6500 songs is Better than nothing and its format is much broader than 99.7 KFRC s was or ever would be !! How many times can you listen to the Dock of the Bay? or Brown Eyed Girl?? Gee whiz That station wouldnt change or add songs Like the Grassroots They would play "Lets Live For Today" but not "Heaven Knows" or "Wait A million Years" and they would play Steppenwolfs 2 songs you know em , but never play "Rock Me" from 1969 !!! Dr. I was suffering from commercial overdose and repititous aspsciation at KFRC Im cured now because there is other choices !! I will say KFRC really wore out the music they played!!

>> "I for one will not pay for any radio!"

You get what you pay for. It really is fantastic.

Gene Autry's Golden West Broadcasters sold 560 KSFO to King Broadcasting in 1983. King Broadcasting then sold 1260 KYA AM to Bonneville which put some lame business and jazz format on it for a time before it became KOIT AM and added the simulcast with the FM and its been that way ever since!

No need for a BM, XM  All we said was KYA (not the streaming mutation) did itself in with a loose playlist and inferior programming, allowing KFRC to remain the dominant Top 40 and Oldies stations for years. "Share The Land" may have hit #10 on Billboard, but "In The Year 2525" went #1. Nurse Jeff and I'd rather not hear either song in a heavy, medium or light rotation. But hey, we're all about diversity so enjoy those forgotten oldies on The Boss of The Streaming Audio Bay..Kay Why Aaa 12~Sixty!

What can I say, If radio was so good you wouldnt need to pay for it! You can listen to REPETITIVE radio till it puts you to sleep , or go to Satelite!!! When it first came out i said never, but as time went on, and radio got so bad,you either turn it off, or pay!! If this Bay Area had a station with talent and music with variety It would be great!! KYLD has a great Sunday nite show with the X-man Javier which plays some great songs! It would be nice to have a KRLA 1110 AM format like LA had !! KRLA had a format that you never hear anymore!! Weve got great talent here, just need a Frequency to give the Bay area radio worth listening to!! With all these stations sounding very similar ,somethings gotta give!! Kenny in Concord
