Good...day! Paul Harvey to WTTT 1150

From Fybush.com/NERW: "Longtime WBZ (1030) fixture Paul Harvey has found a new home in Boston; NERW hears he's about to resurface on Salem's WTTT (1150 Boston), which may finally bring some attention to that most under-the-radar of talk outlets."

As in, their ratings are so bad they don't even show up! Yet.
______________

I mentioned this down on the Harvey thread...the item from NERW. And I also mentioned that WTTT would be the second major market talker to take Harvey from a higher-profile station.

In Sacramento, Salem's KTKZ/1380 grabbed Mr. Harvey when dominant CC news/talker KFBK/1530 dumped him.

KTKZ is also "ratings challenged", though they do actually show up in the Sacramento book. They're usually fighting it out with out-of-town numbers from KGO in San Francisco, and libtalker KSAC/1240 in town.

Yup, though in our case the station that dumped Harvey is #1 in 12 +
though, yup, WTTT has yet to make the ratings. The Air America combo
is #30 out of 32 I think (WKOX/WXKS) but WTTT? Bubbling under the hot 32,
as Casey Kasem would say. Maybe this will raise their profile. Apparently
the syndie lineup of Gallagher, Praeger, Medved, et al aren't cutting it,
yet, in town. Yet the good numbers WRKO is getting with Depetro, Rush,
Howie, etc., show that there's a market for conservatalk in Boston ('TKK
too, to some extent: Graham, Severino, Ingraham, Hannity, O'Reilly--though
O'R bristles when you call him a conservative; 'independent' maybe)

The WWBA/WAMT bottomfeeder cluster in Tampa/Orlando picked him up when CC's WFLA and WFLF switched to Fox (although 'BA apparently has FNR, too).

Paul Harvey, going from stations with 100,000 listeners to stations with 100...
Edited by KJCB on 01/17/06 01:52 AM.

Could you translate your cryptic message, please?

Ah, I'd missed this one! I do think the Sacramento move was the first of its kind, though. And it happened before it became apparent that ABC could be a little flexible with the CC big market stations going with the new FNR/CC deal...

Yipes! :D

Well, like in Boston, in Sacramento...Harvey went from a top-rated big-time news/talker to a Salem also-ran. And though there's not much a three-time-a-day feature host can do to help ratings, KTKZ actually took a hit in the Fall 12-plus numbers just released this week.

(They shouldn't feel bad...libtalker KSAC/1240 took an even bigger hit.)
