Good Guy Passes

Joe O'Brien

Even though we lived on Long Island, my dad would always have WHUD on in the mornings. So, in a sense, I got to grow up with Joe O'Brien, just as the generations before me had. He will be missed.

Re: Joe O'Brien

He had a 34-year stine at WMCA-570, starting out in the mid-1930's and eventually becoming one of the famous "Good Guy" top-40 DJ's.

Perhaps one of the most versatile personalities in New York radio history.

Heck, he probably could have hosted a phone-in talk show or anchored all-news and done it well.
