Good job last night by ABC

Channel 6 Action News started off covering the election results. I was afraid they would begin with TO but they did the right thing for the first time in a while. In regards to the so called college drinking expose it was interesting but really nothing new. It's no surprise to me. It may be a shock to the Womelsdorfs in Berks County but not to a well informed person like myself. Frankly Action News did'nt go far enugh. I think they should just admit that 70% of the viewing area (college or non-college) are alcoholics!

Wow! College students drink? Colleges cover it up? That is news?
Some stupid football player gets fired, that is not real important news, well perhaps to the nutjob Eagles fans, who none of them have an ounce of sense among them.

I don't think college kids are alcoholics, they're drunks. Alcoholics go to meetings! :)

Where did you get that statistic?
Did you just make it up? Or a you like people I have known in 12 Step programs who after they acknowledge they are an alcoholic (step 1), decide that everybody who drinks at all is also an alcoholic (step 13)?

And Shawn, there are large numbers of college students in AA (and other 12 step programs, and other addiction treatment programs).

It is not a popular view but I firmly believe that everybody who obtains pleasure from drink is some form of an alcoholic. Alcoholism is split into tiers. There is a low tier, a middle tier, and a high tier. People who go to bars a few times a week and swig a few mugs and a shot are on the low tier. People who go to bars more often and really get toasted ofetn are in the middle tier. Then there are the pigs who drink everyday in varying forms. These people are usually the alcoholics who ultimately should go to meetings and get help. The city of Philadelphia has a serious drinking problem. Most people are in the middle to high tier category.

I receive pleasure from drink. I drink lots of water, for if I didn't, I would not have any pleasure because I would be dead from thirst.
