Good Movies that became good TV shows

This list is sure to be a short one
1. M*A*S*H---no brainer
2. Tour Of Duty- based on "Platoon"
3. In The Heat of The Night

"Alice" - based (loosely) on "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" - CBS
"Alien Nation" - based upon the movie, one of Fox's first original drama series - Fox. IMO the series was better than the movie.

Private Benjamin which starred Goldie Hawn in the movie and Lorna Patterson in the TV version and also brought back Eilleen Brennan and Hal Williams from the movie to play their characters on the TV version. The TV show was very good, and should have lasted longer than the 3 seasons it lasted on CBS(spring 1981,1981-1983)

Harper Valley PTA is another movie that I liked which starred Barbara Eden. Last week,I got and watched the DVD of it and it was hilarious as was the TV show which also starred Barbara Eden. Shame that that show only lasted 2 seasons on NBC. It deserved much better.

Of course,M*A*S*H is definitely at the top of my list as well.

One of the best ever:
Broken Arrow - based on the 1950 James Stewart feature Western.
Also:
McCloud - Coogan's Bluff
Superman and Batman have gone back and forth between the large and small screen.

The movie Spencer's Mountain(1963) which starred Glenn Ford and Maureen O'Hara would later become a TV show that lasted 9 seasons(1972-1981) called The Waltons.

The Courtship Of Eddie's Father(1963) which starred Glenn Ford and Ronny Howard would become a TV show from 1969 to 1972 which starred Bill Bixby and Brandon Cruz.

Of course,The Odd Couple(1968) which starred Jack Lemmon and Walter Mattheau would become a TV show starring Tony Randall and Jack Klugman from 1970 to 1975.

Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea(1961) would become a TV series from 1964 to 1968.

Peyton Place(1957) would become a night time soap opera on ABC from 1964 to 1969. Even the sequel to the movie Return To Peyton Place(1961) would spawn a TV sequel as well with the daytime soap on NBC by the same name which lasted from 1972 to 1974.

How To Marry A Millionaire(1953) which starred Marilyn Monroe in the movie would become a TV show from 1958 to 1960 starring Barbara Eden in the Marilyn Monroe role.

Yours,Mine And Ours(1968) which starred Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda would later become the TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed from 1969 to 1974.

A couple of other movies that could be loosely based on later TV shows.

The Brass Bottle(1964) starring Barbara Eden,Tony Randall and Burl Ives would later be the catalyst for I Dream Of Jeannie.

Three Men And A Baby(1987) starring Tom Selleck,Ted Danson, and Steve Guttenburg would later be the catalyst for the TV show Full House.

How about 'The Ghost & Mrs. Muir"?

A 1947 movie with Rex Harrison and Gene Tierney that became a tv series in 1968 with Hope Lang, Edward Mulhare, and Charles Nelson Reilly.

The Farmer's Daughter(1947) which starred Loretta Young would later become a TV show starring Inger Stevens and William Windom from 1963 to 1966.

I Married A Witch(1942) would later become the catalyst of the TV show Bewitched.
