Good news, but I need some suggestions guys

Well Upper mgnt has decided to wait out on going Sat DIAL GLOBAL, at least for now.... We got a new Evening guy...(NUDGE at NIGHT) and he is really funny and youthful and a bit sarcastic, but not rude, and this time slot is when we were really lacking in cume,,, Maybe for leaning too rhythmic at night, so we need more Dance and Rock-POP tracks that will keep the 12-24 audience tuned in which is our main evening target,,, While our daytime target is more like 20-50 females and males as well. both the office listeners and the average blue collar Gas station clerk, or th Dishwashers at Denny's The thing is,,, Ive got some opening for Dance tracks, and nothing ive tested lately seems to catch... When we added September-Cry for you about a year ago it showed good potential from day one... Its in B rotation right now,, we still get calls for it, but it has been in rotation longer than any record since the start of the decade, so we had a good run with it,, David Guetta did really well for us, but it just didnt have the staying power that September had,, but we had a good run with it from Late last spring, on to the end of summer, which is above average and still very good for a dance track on a CHR... Basshunter-Now your gone just didnt sit too well,, we would get a couple calls a day for it, mainly asking the title and artist... This one could have caught on maybe if given a longer chance, but this was one of those records that was just too euro for us, and we did get some complaints about it.... Despite other stations having success with it, they wont let us add Lady Gaga-Just Dance,,, cause even though it sounds like Dance to me,,, Upper MGMT labels it Hip Hop and says our playlist is full up on Hip Hop tracks at this time. So I can probably add another 2 to 3 Dance songs for the fall and winter season, but in order to keep showing MGMT that Dance can work here, I have to be selective on what I add.... Should I give Cascada-Faded a chance,,, are any other CHR stations having success with it? Also, Neyo-Closer, and Chris Brown_Forever and even Rhianna-Disturbia are all showing signs of burn and all but Rhianna is now in B rotation and Rhianna probably soon will be,, and the current Hip Hop as of right now is getting more of an R&B sound now, probably holding off on releasing the more upbeat tracks till next summer, so right now our station doesnt sound too dancy at all, except during our 5 am and 5 pm mixshows, which means we still air 2 hours of dance a day,, Plus our gold dance library from like 98-2008 with the classics spread out through the week. Not too Shabby, but I want the station to sound as dancy as it did during this past summer, but im honestly finding trouble with finding CHR friendly Dance Tracks with Radio edits between 3 to 5 minutes.. Why dont you guys give me a list of suggestions, and I will check them all out, and test what I thiink may work.. It wont hurt to list like 20 songs or so,, Of course I cant play them all, but it gives me more to thumb through and you guys can contribute to making the next future dance hit.. I know we are a small station in an unrated market, but if other stations with 100 miles or so see us having success with it, like WNOU, WZKF, WDJX, and WMGI, WSTO they may test it too, which may or may not work for them.. Louisville KY stations seem really leary on playing any Dance at all, but WDJX used to be so Dance friendly back in the late 80s through the mid to mid-late 90s, and WMGI was almost Pure Dance from 95-97,,, even more Dance,,, Way dancier than even the current Z-1035 Toronto. But If I dont find some new Dance tracks that get could phone responses, my GM is gonna go back to his earlier ways of thinking, that most Dance just doesnt fit in with the chr audience. The new Christina Aguilera-Super Girl, has an electro sound to it, similar to Gold Frapp or Ladytron and its doing good for us, but its not a true Dance Tracks,,, Also, this surprises me how well Brittney Spears Tracks do for us, when these songs burn out or dont do anything on most other stations.. The new Brittney-Womanizer is actually doing very well for us, which surprised the heck out of me, and it has a slight Dance Beat to it, although I do not like this song,,, But for some reason Brittney Tracks much to my dismay that bomb out at other CHRs do very well here and get in our top 10. We are playing Womanizer 32 times a week already.

IM sorry Jimmy..... Im bad about not paragraphing my long winded posts,, it was early in the morning..... But please, guys,,,, Help me out,,,,, Im looking for the next hit,, We were the first CHR to play September, and one of the first 5 to play Cascada Everytime we touch,, Even What hurts the most did fairly well here,,, We were the second or 3rd CHR to play David Guetta, and all these songs got instant results and were put in high rotation almost immediately,,, But im looking for the next hit,, if im keeping my job,, at least untill after the spring Book of Nudge brings our Night Ratings up, Dance will be safe, as long as we can keep finding tracks that will work here.

How's Katy Perry "Hot N Cold" doing for you

what station are you at or can't you say

as for hits on the horizon, how about Kaskade "Move for Me"

Maybe go for what's already worked? ie. Ian Van Dahl, Lasgo, etc.

More specifically,

Anna Grace - You Make Me Feel
Lasgo - Out Of My Mind

I also agree with Move For Me.

Also maybe look into Kim Leoni - Medicine (Topmodelz Remix).

I always felt Kim Leoni also had the potential of a Cascada and September to cross genre lines and make it to mainstream.

Been Playing Move for Me in Mixshows for awhile,, It hasnt gotten any phone calls asking for the song ID,, but it hasnt had any complaints earlier.. Katy perry-Hot n Cold is doing very well for us,,, I dont know how many spins exactly? But here is the station... http://www.wbwb.com/ Anyway, I thought about the Medicine track, and I also briefly considered Moby-Disco Lies,,, but everyone but dance fans seem to hate Moby ever since Eminem lashed out on him,, He could have had more potential hits had that not happened.. That song Southside was a big CHR Hit... I dont think Anna Grace would do well in this market.. Im actually leaning toward the Kim Leoni track and considerng Move for me from Kaskade and Deadmau5,,, I will have to check out the Lasgo track,, and I think I know the Flanders track, but I will have to check it out to verify... Thanks guys,, Ive got another song in mind, but the name slips my mind,, Its from Deadmau5 too, and has the same prog trance feel as move for me,, Ive got it dowloaded,,, ill look it up here in a few and tell ya what it is, and you can tell me if you think it could be a chr hit.

Since September has been a success, you could try adding Can't Get Over and/or Looking For Love (I think Can't Get Over is more CHR friendly). Promote the fact that it's by September to hopefully keep the audience that likes Cry For You.

While it may be a little old, how about Ercola ft Daniella - Every Word, which was the #1 requested song at Pulse 87 for a month this summer. I second Kim Leoni - Medicine as being pop friendly.

I honestly think im gonna go with the Kim Leoni track.. and Hopefully Cant get over will catch on,, we tested it before and it did ago, but we dropped it and started playing Cry for You again cause this is when tons of other CHRs added it and we wanted to give our audience what they asked for cause people were calling for it, and we didnt want Cry for You to over shadow Cant get over cause we planned and now have re added it again, im guessing next week the spins per week will be in the low 20s.... Basshunter hit a brick wall with us and people called it Euro Trash,, and im surprised Dacid Guetta did so well, making the top 5 for a long run, cause people could not understand, Spell, or pronounce the name, so callers would call in and sing it too us, in which the cool Jocks like me would properly ID the song and spell it out for them so they could buy it if they wanted. I was basically the only jock that did miss pronounce his named as David Goodoe.. But peeps would call up and say, can you play that one Techno song that goes like , What are we supposed to do, after all that we been through, and then attempt to hum the rest of the lyrics and beatbox to it. lol

But anyway, now you know why major market high rated stations are careful and selectie on Dance tracks,, It has to get broken out and become a big hit at dance, and then some small market CHRs before a big station like Z-100 will play it.. Im sure if we had another local CHR or a rhythmic, or active or alt rock, or even a local hot AC,, Even though B-102.7 comes in good here,,,, I bet the gm would probably not let us play much dance, cause when WNOU Indy was on the Powerful 93.1 signal and boomed into town, we didnt really start playing current Dance until WNOU flipped to the weaker 100.9 Class a,,, But we always have played gold Dance from the past 10 years or so,,, we got a huge library of them.

By the way guys,, the other dance track im thinking of adding is from Morgan page, and Produced by Kaskade and Deadmau5,,, I believe its called the Longest Road.....

Morgan Page - Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix)

It's a good song, not sure how mainstream friendly it is but none the less a good choice.

I'm really surprised Basshunter actually made it anywhere mainstream. I always felt they sounded like an electronic version of Nsync. This isn't an insult to them as I enjoy their music and will play their songs but I felt mainstream wouldn't like them as they were too pop even for pop dance.
