Come November you'll be able to hear your favorite internet Dance stations with the first ever portable internet-radio receiver. Billboard Radio Monitor is reporting today(August 2nd) that Acoustic Energy will introduce a new device called Reciva's Internet Radio Gateway, which can connect up to 10,000 streaming stations, upload channel listings by country and genre and features a tuning knob that will allow users to select a specific internet station in the AE data base. It is expected to be retailed around $350.00(US).

BTW there's review of it in www.trustedreviews.com

Wow....something I had talked about years ago is coming true! Wish I knew where the original post was saying that eventually you would be able to listen to streaming Internet feeds on a radio...then it got into WiFi!

No doubt I will be buying this! :)

YEAH, But who do you have to... ...to get on the AE Database Listing.
what about all us itty-bitty independents, that nobody seems to not care about.
Hell, you put some of us on a 100,000 watt stick and watch the entire radio industry sit up and take notice.
Hell, I had a 10 watt stick back in ohio in 1994 and I had listeners on 91.9fm
of course it was unlicensed )
I wonder if anyone ever heard the mysterious station emanating off the "Gold Coast" in Lakewood, ohio back then, was covering a good 7 miles.
Hell, is R.Scott communications still in business, maybe I can get me another transmitter and do this again.

It's an OK start, but there's no reason this should have to use a special gateway. I expect future radios won't have this limitation and will be a bit less expensive and nicer looking.

It might be good, but what about adding stations that are not in the DB
such as some that pop up day to day on live365 or a new station
starts streaming?
