GOOD OPEN FM FREQUENCIES IN SAN DIEGO

Unfortunately I cannot connect my digital music player directly to my car audio system and must rely on a small device FM transmitter to transmit a signal.

Are there any good open FM frequencies I can tune the device to? They all seem to be kinda dirty around town... I know LA is worse in the days when I had a XM music unit.

I might add that this locator presumes a fixed position. For example, what may be a great frequency at your house might not be so hot for the duration of a long commute or at your work location. Some compromise might be in the offing.

104.1 has always worked really well for me all throughout SD. I live Uptown and work Downtown, often drive up to Escondido, out to Rancho San Diego and down to the South Bay and it stays tuned in very well. I've actually been able to stay tuned into 104.1 along the 5 up through southern Orange County. Hope that helps.

In Southern California in general (outside of Palm Springs), 106.1 has worked clearly for me, as I listen to my iPod through my car. The reason I mentioned Palm Springs is because KPLM 106.1 transmits on that frequency, but it's not noticeable unless you're off to the east and you're not listening to your music on that frequency.

In Southern California in general (outside of Palm Springs), 106.1 has worked clearly for me...

I have a a Griffin iPod adapter and use 106.1 or 106.3 while driving all over North San Diego County and Southwest Riverside County.

89.1 FM works well through most of the city with my iPod
