Good Riddance to Smallville

What was once a promising and well written program has deteriorated into one of the worst acted and poorly written shows on cable television. Thank goodness the show's producers, or whomever is in charge at the CW Network decided to have mercy on the show by pulling the plug this season.

I hope that Tom Welling, Allison Mack and the other remaining actors have invested their money wisely over the years because I can't see them returning to television in another series, or even having a shot landing a decent movie role.

It is really a shame that the network or the show's producers dragged this program out for ten years. They should have called it quits after several of the series original regulars left.

"It is really a shame that the network or the show's producers dragged this program out for ten years."

That is exactly how I feel about "Perfect Strangers."

If this show aired on an over-the-air network, it would have been canceled after the third season.
Ten years is way too long to keep this show on life-support.

I don't think the series stars will have to worry about money. DVD sales plus residuals for any reruns will keep them floating in cash until they reach Social Security.

Um, I think you missed the subtlety of TVOR's initial post. It "has deteriorated into one of the worst acted and poorly written shows on cable television." CW is an over-the-air network... though many cable networks routinely outrate them, so they'd be better off as a cable network, frankly...

And with every other viewing option out there, it impacted you....how? Lots of people tire of a given show before it meets its demise, but if the audience was there enough to generate a profit satisfactory to the network in question, the harm is...um, what, exactly?

ION outrates CW, do you expect this network to be around in five years when it's affiliate agreements expire?

I said the same thing about Tony Danza, yet he just won't go away :)

The fans think it has only gotten better since Lana left! At least that's true on the official CW message boards. Okay, a few Lana-lovers disagree, but they don't say much.

I was a Lana-lover, actually, but Lois is even better.
