Mark Larsen's Morning Magazine.

Dan York's Tampa Bay Experience. My radio hero. Im really missing him.

Malcom Out Loud. His anunciation could be a bit "annoyin" at times.

Don and Mike. From years ago on 1040 when I first started listining to AM.

Phil Hendri. I never got sick of hearing him talk to himself.

Rush Limbaugh. Has gotten better now that Bush is out of office. For 8 years it seemed like he was a mouth piece for the Bush Administration.

Glen Beck. His dramatic pauses are "annoyin" and he had the same problem Rush had for 8 years of Bush.

Michael Savage. An awesome intelect. He makes me want to go out and break shit. I enjoy his show more when he talks about nonpolitacal issues.

Dennis Miller. Radio fits him well.

Dave Ramsey. Im actually working my debt snowball. His show has real helped me turn my financial life around.

Square Talk on Cars. For a brokered program its a damn good show.

I for got one. An important one. To me at least.

Bob Lassiter RIP
He had some of the smoothest pipes in the biz.
He was good at challenging your beliefs rather then echoing and reinforcing them reguardless of his actual opinion.

Let's not forget about Neil Rogers, who Bob RIP stole half his material from. Even Bob admented that.

I dont have all the inside knowladge on radio you do. Neil Rodgers was only on in Tampa in 1989. I was listining to Power Pig's Tim and Tom Show at night then. I had not even found the AM band yet. I think I heard Rush for the first time in 1991 on a road trip with my Dad. I only really got into Talk Radio in 1997 when I had a job as a Document Courrier. So my knowladge of talk radio only spans the Tampa Bay Market from that time forward.
Just for shits and giggles I would like to hear the back ground story about when Power Pig trashed Q105.
I owned a Screw the Q T shirt. But I was only 11 or 12 at that time. So that slant played into my childish nature.

I can't give you my personal email address on this board, but if you email me at the station at: [email protected] I'll be more than happy to give the real story about what happen between Q105 and the power pig in 1989-1990. I was there...I know first hand the inside story. Hope to hear from you soon.

I remember "Stanley Steamer", Jim Stanley, from WLCY...vaguely. I was a young lad in the early 60s. When I ended up working at a station down there in the early 80s, I inquired if anyone knew what happened to him and I was met with blank stares and lots of "Stanley who?" How sad that no one remembers the ones that came before them and paved the way.

WFLA Lounge. I helped Carol Sudler come up with the concept one lonely Saturday in the shell of the soon to be abandoned 970 studios on Jackson Street. Carol took the concept, ran with it and created some of the most off the wall fun anyone ever had on commercial radio.

I enjoy listening in on several local sports talkers...JP Peterson, Nanci Donellan and JP Peterson all do a good job and they are live and local!

Anyone who heard the Lounge in its five or six years on the air, try to imagine the typical talker of 2010 (such as the current WFLA) doing that today. Try to imagine ANY radio station doing anything like that today -- especially on a Saturday night!

Actually, I believe D&M were on the old 1010 AM in Tampa.

I just started a similar show last week on WSRQ. (1220am, 106.9fm and wsrqradio.com). The SRQ Lounge airs LIVE from 7-9 every Saturday night. Last week's guests included local band "Left Hand Corner" and "The Bradentucky Bombers" Roller Derby Girls. Very entertainment based show.

I wish I could tell you SBE1. I just do shows here, and try to stay out of the engineering aspect of things. Just having a good ole' time here!!

In the 80's, a DJ on WEZS in Richmond used the single name of Rafferty or Rafferdy. That you by any chance?

I have an aircheck from a Stanley Steamer Christmas Day show on WLCY. It's sorta disappointing, in that he plays Christmas music rather than Top-40. Of course, old-time Top-40 was a lot more conservative than we tend to remember it, anyway. If you have any desire to have a cd copy of the above Jim Stanley show, feel free to emai me at dwtpa96 at verizon.net.

One of my favorites has always been Howard Hewes, who worked at a number of Top-40 and Oldies stations in the area. Howard was absolutely crazy. If he'd been dangerous, they'd have locked him up! A Howard Hewes show was never boring.

Never worked in Richmond. Have worked in Cincinnati (WLW, Mix and Kiss), Columbus (Sunny 95, K95, WLOH) and here in Sarasota (Clearchannel, now WSRQ.)

WSRQ only has an STA for 250 watts days and 39 watts since they're running non-directional. I have a feeling they're running a lot more than that, especially at night. They have a new 1,000 watt Nautel transmitter.

PAST,
The Sports wenches I mean Sports Chixs
Austin & Gunn.
The Show With No Name
Cowhead and cry baby (Brently)
PRESENT,
Anything other than the midget (MJ)
