Good Signs & Signals

It is good to hear good quality radio in the central Maine area after such a long time of swift decline mixed with "same old same old". Finding Mix 107.9 and 93.5 True Oldies has been a return back to the fun radio of old. The rest of the signal landscape has become either cookie cutter or machines with nobody at the controls. Please do not take this as an attack on long time, hard working people that have truly gotten where they are...especially regarding longevity...without caring and loving what they do. It just seems that a lot of radio here sounds like the result of absentee landlords and no "hands on" TLC delivery for the sake of the listener. Mix & Oldies sound great, the personalities truly sound like they're having fun and you don't hear any of the corporate punishing influence on the programming side of things. Some of the older stations sound labored, tired, forced...like they're just there for the check and really can't wait to leave after they kill the mic. I still miss the days of WIGY...Dingo Boy on TOS...and the rest of the almost palpable joy you got every time you tuned in on the dial but I for one am glad to have Mix & Oldies to remind us of how it was and should still be done.

I don't a listen a lot but when I'm in the area, I've always noticed that WABK sounds good which is hard to believe considering their ownership. Also always thought the citadel stations were decent, but now with with cumulus who knows. I'm sure moral at B 98.5 and the Moose is pretty low

Tom O and Mr. Mike on 105 T-O-S its still rockin :)
I do miss Rev, Rush and Jessee.
