What took so long?

Geoff Charles had no business ever getting a show like that.
Can Howie Bart be far behind?
The two of them are among the worst I've ever heard in talk radio.

You should give Charles alittle credit.
For years,his HJY show has been a hit. I know mostly do to Steve Conti
and Laurenti. Still Charles 'works' on the FM
Charles,and others like him, DO NOT 'work' on the AM however.
A lesson for all P,D.s sad to say.

Howie reminds me of the mean old man who hates when kids hit the ball into his yard. What a arrogant, snooty, miserable man Mr. Bart is. Here's to him getting the ax.

Rewind to 1989. Charles was a hit on WPRO AM. Unfortunately at that time they were much to conservative to have a guy like him on the air, so it didn't work out. It's to bad because Charles was full of energy and he really was a lot of fun to listen to. Unfortunately with Age he has mellowed and he is not the same character that he was in 1989. Now he comes off as a grumpy aging Rocker. In my opinion that is still a lot of fun to listen to. But I guess HJJ no longer thinks so.

I happen to blame the time slot more than anything. I'm a Charles fan and I still couldn't seem to remember that he was on each evening. Who listens to the Radio between 8 and 10 PM anyway? To most of America "THAT" is TV time. If his show aired during Afternoon Drive I am sure things would have gone better. Besides... it's pretty freaking hard to breathe life into a station that has been dead in the water ever since Depetro left.

I wish Charles Good Luck. I still think he has some ratings left in him. But he's got to be on a decent station at a time when people actually listen!

Your posts are always a good read.
I was just wondering if you have heard Charles at night?
I heard him several times, really awful.
Reason, he has Jeremy and not Laurenti ect..
He really doesnt have it anymore.
He should stick to HJY.

Yes a couple of times. As a matter of fact I had to go to the Supermarket last night, so I put him on while in the Car. Turns out that he was talking about how this would be his last week on HJJ. He mentioned how if he were in charge of Clear Channel he would have taken his show off too. It's a Numbers game and he agreed that it would be silly to pay him when the station could just air programming off the satellite for Nothing. Yes his show isn't exactly exciting. No real direction either...... but I find him no worse than a lot of what's on the Radio.
