Goodbye Asheville...

Wow, I never thought I'd be doing this, but here's goodbye to Asheville. I've bought three stations in Southeastern Kentucky, and I'll be moving there on December 20th to run them. It'll be nice to be a small-market owner again.

I'll definitely miss Asheville and Western North Carolina. I've never really lived anywhere else. I'll miss oldies on 96.5, and Ken Bagwell on 1350, and all the folks at WLOS. Who'd have ever imagined anybody would miss News 13 and Bob Caldwell's weather? :) But, opportunity knocks, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have good stations in a nice town.

Since I won't be Mr. Gossip in Asheville anymore, you guys have to keep me in the loop! I want to know all the juicy details when 105.9 signs on, and when WWNC cans the afternoon host again.

If any of you ever find yourselves in Middlesboro, Kentucky, please stop by to say hello. I'll give you the grand tour.

Best wishes...I've enjoyed your posts. You're moving to some pretty country up there around Cumberland Gap.
