Goodbye Bubba The Love Sponge?

He just lost a station in NW FL today. That leads him down to exactly two stations

I suppose his flagship station is WYBB, an active rocker in Charleston, SC with eternally ho-hum ratings
He also has a slight voice in Orlando with second rate sports talker in bot AM and FM.

How long will this last? Is he trying to make up with old radio enemies so they’ll help get him a job?The money he’s getting for being a middling jock in either Chucktown or Orlando can’t be much

It seems a lot of the hot talkers and rock jocks from the nu-metal age are gone or fading. Tom Leykis, Bubba the Love Sponge, Opie & Anthony -- even Stern isn't OTA anymore (satellite only, and no one talks about him like they did when he was over the air). I'm sure there are others.

True. Hot talk on the radio is mostly dead. Leykis, Opie, Anthony, Phil Hendrie, all over to the wonderful world of the internet.

Bubba was always that one exception, though. Part of that is Florida has embraced whats left of the hot talk format to a degree. That being said, he had staying power well after the others had left and at least proved one could make that kind of syndicated show a moderate success.

It just seems that since the whole Nielsen debacle and his overall shift to begging for his job back with Howard on Sirius during his own show, it can't last much longer. Most of the former affiliates agree.

I just can't imagine Bubba running his terrestrial show in 12 months. He'll have either butt-kissed enough to go back on SiriusXM or will fade with the other shock jocks into relative podcast obscurity

According to another thread, he's back on the air on 660 in Orlando, with a 105.5 translator, and also on 820 in Tampa.
