You are correct but the OP is referencing a network of AM/FM Translator combos offered by Townsquare along the Jersey Shore: WOBM-AM & 104.1 FM along with WADB-AM & 96.7 FM. This has nothing to do with Cat Country (WCTO) in Allentown.Cat Country 96 is a Lehigh Valley station. I'm writing in the present tense because it is still available online with DJs, long commercial breaks, and "The Star-Spangled Banner" at noon. Also, Cat Country 107.3 is a different station with a different logo.
Cat Country 96
I understand now. Thanks for your explanation of the original post. You are correct but the OP is referencing a network of AM/FM Translator combos offered by Townsquare along the Jersey Shore: WOBM-AM & 104.1 FM along with WADB-AM & 96.7 FM. Looks like it is going to stay as is. WOBM-FM & WJLK Expand Coverage On The Jersey Shore - RadioInsightbring beach radio back, sojo's hd3 is a hard catch in many areas.
They actually already have one at 100.5 which is utterly useless because it doesn't extend their coverage at all.On a related subject WJRZ could use fm translator as they already transmitted on the WRAT tower as HD2 as its main signal north of the tower is quite weak with WHTZ Interfering with it. The 96.7 signal will help WOBM reach Red Bank better and the 104.1 signal will help WJLK reach Southern Ocean better from Manahawkin northward
I live in Midwood Brooklyn and used to listen to 1310 in my car 'cause WKMK is blocked most of the time by a 106.3 pirate. I even listened to Cat Country Jersey Shore at home via Alexa/Tune In.It was better than 106.3.As of today, Cat Country on 96.7 & 104.1 is no more, but still lives on at 107.3. 92.7 WOBM and 94.3 The Point are filling the airspace for 96.7 & 104.1, but will this be a permanent thing or are we heading towards another format change soon?
