Goodbye, "CH", Hello....E! ?!?!?!

Unless this is an elaborate hoax, Canada NewsWire and other sources are reporting that the "CH" group of stations will change branding to E!.

Aside from programming changes, local newscasts will undergo a rebranding to include their call signs. "CHEK News", "CHCH News", etc.

All of this is slated to start September 1st.

With Chum group out of the way, it just makes really good business sense for Global to royally screw over the owners of CTV, City tv...and...oh yes...STAR TV!

What will Star tv do now? Well over half the programming there is E! programming...

And CTV, Citytv, and Global could also get screwed once Rogers gains control of the A-Channel system.

Who will have the rights to the Jay Leno show in Canada?
Currently, A channel Barrie carries it, then the same show repeats on Star, and Rogers didn't buy Star. (there may be a few other good examples too...)

Hard to say how that'll work. Rogers has the rights for David Letterman for OMNI Television in Ontario. It is possible that Leno could end up on Citytv and ASN at the end of all this.

Ok, but then, what happens with Jimmy Kimmel live? City carries that currently,

As well, there's Ed the sock on City...and...

What will become of Sex tv...the show? It used to air right after Ed the Sock, but Rogers bought Sex tv. (the channel)
