Either way, La Bonita, La Favorita, anything's better than Esterio Latin-OH!
Really?? I thought Estereo Latino had the most ratings in spanish radio here in houston.

That has nothing to do with it. Houston and Dallas are two seperate markets. Any spanish station in Dallas could have used the "Estereo Latino" moniker along time ago. Its only a name not an entire radio station.

It would be even better if they killed the format and brought back 102.9 The Planet :D

Of course, it is the top billing radio station in the market...

That's great rageradio! I miss the prematurely blown up KKPN as well. But I'll go one better.

Ask me about my radio station! KQUE-FM 103!

I was thinking that KLTN was consistently in the top 5 in the market. Again, I'll believe it when I see it.

Well, David, I guess I'm seeing figures different from yours. Where do you get this?

Are you shure they are not going to just change the name of their nightly show or make a new segment on their slot? Makes really no sense to change the name Estere Latino, especially since it has become a household name.

To me its out dated, a throw back to the 70s. The use of the word "Stereo" told the listener that this station is broadcasting in stereo. Why would you need to include that when stereophonic audio is the standard these days. Digital Latino would seem to make more sense but then again thats my people... sticking to things long since passed. :/ It's time for a change but I think they should have done it gradually. Using it less and less.

The name does not necessarily reflect the use of "Stereo FM". In spanish, many people call Radios by "estereos". It's slang. It's an equivalent of Radio Latino.

Maybe it will change names on the night like Juan said. But I dont know if thats true, I asked Estereo Latinos fans about it and they said yes. It changing monday, but I guess we have to find out on monday if there are any changes.

And we won't even get into the quadraphonic argument, either. Did any of the Houston area stations try the quadraphonic broadcasting systems back in the 70s?

I want to say yes. I believe I heard some stations were doing it but it was short lived. Anyone know the story?

How would listeners know even if this absurdity were true?
