CC will flip Viva to something not so special. Any guesses on what it will be? I have the answer and a Giant Brian t-shirt to the winner.

Hope they flip Viva, CBS Will be more than Happy to pick the format. I also heard they want to flip dave fm to spanish...any word on that?

Patron to 105.7 and CHR to 105.3.

Ok, this is interesting....if the rumors say CC will be flipping Viva! People say there is a lack in variety in Atlanta so hear is my new list:

Im only speaking of ATL CHR stations:

Star 94- Play the same music rotation, pure CHR all the way.
Q100- sorry Q, Might as well go HOT AC- its really dumb to have two CHR stations playing the same music rotation. Your station sounds more like a HOT-AC than a CHR anyway! Keep the Bert Show because its a quality morning show (my opinion) and the rest of the DJS except Billy Bush Countdown Show!

Now the speculation begins if or when 105.7 will flip. I have two suggestions but knowing, it might as well stick to Spanish.

But if I was CC, I would be wise to flip to FM talk or a Top-40 Rhythematic Station, just like the one out in San Francisco......calling it WiLD 105-7. The Beat @ 95.5 sucks and atlanta radio needs a boost in the market and we need to get WILD once again! Currently, its boring......Zzzzz.....

So, your thoughts?

I'd like to know Rolloneup's source on this. It could very well happen at some point, but I read his past posts, and I don't have total faith that he's a credible source.

Star 94 is an Adult leaning CHR, just like Q-100. Both are too vanilla sounding to be pure CHR/Pop.
The name Wild was already tried in the market a few years, albeit on a horrific 06.7 signal. The format was indeed Rhythmic CHR.
Clear Channel has already tried FM talk a few years ago on 105.7 (or was it 105.3?).

As for 95.5 The Beat, I'd hardly say they suck. Their signal doesn't cover the market as well as Q-100 or Star 94 yet cume-wise, and ratings-wise The Beat at times beats both of Atlanta's CHRs. That's saying something a lot.

For all we know CC could try another Spanish format on 105.7. If CC does inten on taking the station towards CHR/Pop expect there to be a healthy Rhythmic/Pop lean similar to CC's recent launch of 103.7 Kiss FM Chattanooga.

Agreed. Mr. 21 posts doesn't bring much cred to the table.

The Beat has a CP to bring their transmitter intown and cover all of the metro, so their east-leaning coverage should end.

CC did have FM talk on 105.3 (Real Radio) and it failed.

If history is any guide, CC likes to try out new formats on 105.3 and then promote them to a better signal if it takes off. Patron is doing well and would do better on 105.7.

My guess remains a CHR to fit in between 94Q/Warm 100 Star 94/Q100 and the Beat. Less rhythmic, more mainstream than The Beat, but less AC than Star/Q. The other alternative would be to promote Legend to 105.3, but that might cannibalize Bull too much.

Your daughter helping you out again?

If CC flips VIVa it will be another Huge MISTAKE. it's a unique format and very productive. Having spanish station is a good thing for CC, their DJs don't make much money like their English one... and Clearchannel can't even affort to buy not even a candy.
