NEW YORK -- Google Inc. is continuing to expand its advertising capabilities beyond the online world, agreeing to buy a company that automatically connects advertisers with radio stations. The price could top $1.2 billion.

Yep. It looks like a good fit and not a bad thing that Google, considered a hip young company, is investing in a business associated with radio, which isn't.

I wonder how much of a blow this will be to Katz/Clear Channel and Interep?

Speaking of Interep, they look like a good takeover target by the likes of Google or Yahoo! since they also have an Internet sales division and are struggling to keep clients on the radio side. But, are the Guilds ready to bail out just yet?

I don't know. I never thought of it in those terms.

I am completely out of that loop but if Google decides to buy Interep, then they are better than I think they are which is entirely possible. I just don't see any rep firm as having much value.

Are they Guilds ready to bail out? I can only speculate which I'm only too happy to do. :) They aren't ready. <P ID="signature">______________
