Google News Archive

OK..how does this Google Archive thing work? I tried it today only to get stupid ads for those so-called "electronic cigarettes" ,garbage stuff about Westboro Baptist Church and why I should sell my home and move to Indianapolis "where the jobs are"...found NO TV Listings whatsoever.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this free or does one have to pay as in the case with Newspaper Archives?

Go go Google and look up "advanced news archive search". It will bring up a form that will
allow you to do keyword searches of newspaper databases (library microfiche files basically)
going back many years. Some charge for access but I could find most copies of the Pittsburgh
Press and Post Gazette prior to 1990 for free. And yes, it is a terrific way to find retro TV listings.

Some might want to check with their local libraries. Because I have an Akron-Summit County (Ohio) Library Card, I have home access to Newspaper Archive for free..I dont know how many libraries nationally have this program.
