This could be a major change for radio.

Google positioning for move into U.S. radio
Search giant's investment in radio could grow to 1,000 employees

LOS ANGELES - Web search leader Google Inc. is hiring scores of radio sales people and is spending heavily in a bid to expand its position in the $20 billion radio industry.

Google spokesman Michael Mayzel said this week that the company will begin a public test of Google Audio Ads by the end of the year. Advertisers will be able to go online and sign up for targeted radio ads using the same AdWords system they use to buy Web search ads.

Interesting concept...maybe getting some non-industry blood is what this business needs

So does this mean that the "other side" finally gets to feel the pain of automation. Is this going to be out of market voice...er I mean..AD tracking??

As loathe as I would be to quote Alanis Morrissette, I have to say, isn't it Ironic?

LOL ;)

Yeah...how does that work if there needs to be "after aired" revisions to the spot? Google doesn't know the logistics of commercial production.

Google already owns the former Scott Studios/Computer Concepts. They've been using what amounts to a trojan horse to fill up unsold inventory with Google brokered ads. If you agree to allow Google to surreptitiously do this they essentially give you the automation system for free.
