From the above article:

MINNEAPOLIS (Oct. 21) - Gordon Lee, the chubby child actor who played Spanky McFarland's little brother Porky in the "Little Rascals" comedies, has died. He was 71.

Was Porky supposed to be "Spanky's brother?"

If so I never made the connection

On some epsisodes yes...others no..The Little Rascals was not a sitcom the same way as Brady Bunch or All In The Family or Happy Days. The Little Rascals was not a continuing series of continuity.

The Littel Rascals episodes were usually autonomous and did not connect with each other always except for a few from 1930-31. If you watch each episode you will notice different people are parents of the same kids. Also they are put in different situations. Each episode was its own story. Episodes rarely built on previous ones except for a few school episodes in 1930-31.

Even on the 1936 to 37 school episodes the teacher played by the same person was Miss Lawrence on a few episodes while Miss Jones on a few others.

Porky played Spanky's brother on "Little Sinner" from 1935. Other episodes do not establish this.

Also from 1934 to 1935 Buckwheat's gender was female and played by Billie Thomas. From 1935-36 Buckwheat's sex was not made clear and by mid 1936 Buckwheat was established as a boy.

So these episodes were contradictory at times. These were made prior to the concept of a sitcom.
