Gorillaz on commercial radio?

I maybe wrong but I do not think any station in Philly, other than XPN is playing the Gorillaz. Can that be possible? Their album is huge internationally and one of the most downloaded albums on itunes. So what gives? Wouldn't their pop sound be perfect for Q102 and Wired, etc?

The former WPLY used to play their song "Clint Eastwood." Back then, they weren't as "mainstream" as they are now, but it's notable that Y100 and no one else played this.

I think Wired would be most likely to give them a spin now before Q. We'll see.<P ID="signature">______________

Does WSTW count? If not, then no, no one's playing it.

Too rock for Wired. It's climbing the Pop chart, but Q102 is too busy fending itself off from Wired to embrace a risky, different sounding song like this.

Even though the rock stations do throw a bone to the Y100 crowd by playing the occasional Coldplay or Killers song, there's just no one that's going to take on a quirky hit like Gorillaz. The hole is certainly there for Alternative. Your best hope is that WYSP takes a nosedive after Stern leaves and Infinity takes notice.

Your best bet would be y100rocks.com. I believe they're playing several Gorillaz tracks.

For me it doesn't matter, I have the album. My question is more to why Top 40 radio is not all over this song? Is it because the Gorillaz are more European with some of its founding members coming from a heritage brit pop/alterna background?

What do people think. Is this the best pop album of the year? It would make my top 50 albums of the year for XPN's year end countdown

I might ask a similiar question even though I don't live back here, is Q-102 playing Collective Souls's latest,or Def Lepard's latest. Probably not. It's not CHR targeted for their average age group. You have 2 CHR's split down the middle. They are CHR/Pop and Hot AC. The Gorillaz are hot AC.

Q102 has been testing "Feel Good" but hasn't given it any strong airplay so far.
