Loved Clint Eastwood when I first heard it in April 2001. Got stuck in my head after the first hear. Got their self titled album in June of 2001 (Think it was the 19th) and was shocked at how good the whole darn thing was. In July the local CHRs (WXSS Milwaukee and WKSC Chicago) started in on Clint Eastwood. Peaked in the fall (Around September-October) The alternatives were also all over it.
Then 19-2000 was released as a single. Didn't really go too far. There was the Soulchild Remix which got most of the alternative and probably most of the CHR airplay.
Tomorrow Comes Today was the first single off it but it was only released in England.
Rock The House (with Del The Funky Homosapian on vocals) was supposed to be the single after 19-2000, but I don't think it went anywhere.
G-Sides (Single B sides collection) was released in February 2002. I picked it up. Found it to be pretty good.
A remix album Space Monkeyz Vs. Gorillaz was released later in 2002. Never got it.
Around my area, they were really popular. People loved their stuff.
First heard Feel Good Inc in March of this year. I knew it was gonna be big. Now its #1 on Alternative and going up on CHR.
Got the 2nd full length album in May the day it came out. Put it on. It wasn't as good as the first, but it was good. El Manana, Dirty Harry, Dare, and Fire Coming Out Of A Monkeys head are my favorites off of it.
The next single is Dare. Its already in rotation on MTV-2 and is probably getting ready to chart in the UK. Its a really upbeat and cool song. Should do well on alternative.
And they for sure have plans to release more singles off of the album, as well as a new one in early 2006 with the Search For A Star Contest winner.
They're sort of like a super group. Lots of very talented artists banded together. I think thats what I like about them the most.
The songs on the first album had vary cool style ranges. Rock/Alternative, Hip Hop, Pop, Chill all showed presence in this album.
Demon Days is a bit more hip hop heavy but you can still notice some rock in there.
Hope that helps.<P ID="signature">______________
