Gospel in KSOC's future?

It be nice. With the number of large African-American Churches in the Dallas area, we should be more then able to support an FM gospel station. I would listen to Heaven 97 more, but the signal is so bad and there in nothing worse then trying to listen to music on a weak AM signal.

The fact that KHVN can draw in the low 1's with that signal is a pretty good indicator of how Urban Gospel could do on FM.

I've been checking out Praise 92.1. A high energy, dynamic station. If it succeeds here in Houston Radio One will have to seriously consider the format for KSOC.

I recall that Urban Gospel was once planned for 1190 but never happened--this was during the KJOI incarnation.

KLTY tried black gospel on 104.9 for a while but of course 94.5 has a better signal than 104.9 does. I am sure black gospel on 94.5 would be a ratings success but would not make that much money.
