Got HD Radio?

I cannot speak for The Block but, in our case, (Earth-FM 94.5 HD-2) we lost our main link that feeds the hd-2 and the two translators. This, of course, was on day one of the engineers vacation. I did emergency repairs that returned all to air. In the HD-2's case it's currently being fed a different way and, admittedly, between covering for vacation jocks, etc. I haven't gotten to jacking that baby up. Thanks for lighting the fire! Also, for the time being no regular updated RDS info. QUU album art experience in HD is being updated.

Curious when 95.9 to 95.5 could happen. Is there a target date yet?

Seems like 94.5 HD-2 is back up and running as it was. The RDS never disappeared as far as title and artist, but the sound is better and I'm seeing the cover art again. I love the station logo/cover art feature - iHeart is the only company I've personally seen adopt it nationally. Locally I know the WLFJ family of stations has, not sure if it shows the album art. Audacy doesn't seem to have much interest.

I always notice the absolute worst place for Earth FM in the upstate is the White Horse Rd/Anderson Rd area. 103.3 loses a ton of punch and gets shaky, and 95.9 is still a no-go (its there, but more static than 103.3). If you head over to Dunean at GHS 103.3 is solid and if you head over to Hwy 153 in Powdersville 95.9 is pretty good. Just a small very dead area, its nice to have the HD-2 option.

Speaking of signals, I've noticed the signal for the 102.9 translator is terrible. Seems no matter where I am there's always static. Is it that directional? It certainly appears so, it doesn't have the reach of the other translators up there. I believe 98.5 and 99.5 (IMO 99.5 is the best translator signal in the area) are the only non-directional translators of any sort. 96.3 and 97.7 are nulled to the north or west so they don't lose much market coverage they'd have anyway, especially 96.3 which is just nulled to the mountains where the signal wouldn't go anywhere anyway.

The 102.9 translator has to fight the 100kw signal of WLKO Hickory/Charlotte.
It looks extremely directional on top of that, I’m not sure where it really comes in clearly. Seems like a bad frequency for a translator as there might also be interference from WHQA 103.1.
