Barbara was the best. She, Jerry Williams & I were "governors" on WRKO circa 1989-92. We made it hot for the hacks! She was our conscience.

Jerry had on Howie and Barbara on Tue afternoons (theme: theme from Mod Squad). Later Bob Katzen was a part of "the unholy three". The "governors" nickname came from someone who wondered, do they think they run the state or something?
Barbara, a transplanted Pennsylvanian, also wrote for the Salem News.
 
Barbara was an example of the quiet power of women; no simple housewife.Worked with her and the Dean long before The Governors shtick was created. Know how the foolishness nearly destroyed her reputation and Barbara finally "resigned " as one of the "Governors." They continued after that.Another member of Jerry Williams creation went on to become his Frankenstein . . . or is it FrankenSTEEN.Barbara did not need the Governors' side show to get her point accross. In truth it permanently damaged her credibility and never regained her stature or confidence with voting public again. A very nice and extremely smart woman who made one bad decision she would live to regret - becoming one of the ' The Governors' not ready for prime time vaudeville act. Still and all a very nice person who could have accomplished more on her own without being taken for a ride in the Clown Car. RIP and Eternal Light Barbara. for
