Gow Media rebrands SB Nation Radio

Of local interest here, though I don't think anything on the network is currently aired in Houston: https://radioinsight.com/headlines/191101/sb-nation-radio-to-rebrand-as-sportsmap-radio-network/

Perhaps 97.5 will rebrand as SportsMap, as ESPN programming is only used as overnight filler, which makes the current branding a farce. And ESPN's image has become increasingly tarnished lately. Gow used the SportsMap moniker on the unsuccessful 94.1 SportsTalk format, which was technically a continuation of the old 1560 The Game, and that effort did carry SB Nation Radio and its various predecessors.

What did David do? I feel hostility and a negative energy. I'm happy we have more local owners.
Locally owned Radio Stations create more jobs locally and, in some citys provide better wages and benefits than corporate america.

My honest opinion:

The brand that he owns that has potential for growth is the Bet'r Network, which is a combination of VSIN shows and SBN/SportsMap/whatever you want to call it this week.

He's got affiliates in markets where sports betting is legal clearing that content, and they're taking the network for the content, not the brand.

There's no point in licensing somebody's brand if that brand isn't getting you affiliates.

His current business model seems to be getting someone else to create the content and sharing the revenue from airing it, so step 1 of making that work is not writing checks to someone for a brand.
