Grace Blazer To Receive Award This Weekend

To be fair, raccoonradio first brought this to our attention on this board, but since it's buried in a Severin thread, I thought I'd start a thread given the timing of the event.

WTKK's Grace Blazer on Friday will be honored with the Judy Jarvis Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions to Talk Radio by a Woman. It will be presented to her by last year's winner of the award, Laura Ingraham.

I was honored to meet Ms. Blazer at the Talkers convention last year, when she was on a discussion panel. She was kind enough to discuss radio issues for several minutes afterward.

While Rush Limbaugh is scheduled to be given the Freedom of Speech award at this same event this weekend, I think Gracie is the true star this weekend. (And besides, I wonder if Rush is even going to show up...)

The Talkers Convention is entirely run by conservatives, and has absolutely nothing to do with people actually contributing to radio outside of that very narrow ideological filter. I mean come on! Limbaugh winning the Freedom of Speech award?????

I've heard that at the convention there was table after table of fear-mongerers selling conservative sheeple on how Obama is going to take their guns away because he's some sort of fascist.

Ya, a truly high moment for radio.
