Opus Broadcasting of Monroe has released 103.1 The Party's Gravedigga, citing "budget cuts". Why can a high profile personality when there are many utility players you could scale back hours on? Unless they work for free.

What does this mean for Opus? Sounds like a change in sales force might be coming since they are supposed to be the revenue drivers. The 12 + ratings for The Party don't justify "budget cuts" if it is being sold correctly or...could be different for the target audience though.

Side note...Chris, you want to hire him back?
______________

Cuz it probably wasn't budget cuts, but to avoid making his name trash in the industry or in town they give a "corporate" explanation.

If his shift gets a new jock, then you'll know for sure.

New lineup is Kraddick in the morning, Rob Lloyd on middays and Fast Eddie on afternoons. It was budget cuts. Grave was the highest paid so they ran him off. It just goes to show you that talent or being popular with the listeners means nothing anymore. It doesn't matter if you sound like Peter Brady when his voice cracked. As long as you can do it for $1000 a month and some trade.

its called radio in the 21st century..switch to XM or Sirius. as long as we support these stations on fm they will continue to do things like this..

note to the NAB..satellite radio..its worth paying for!!

They(GM's and owners)need to quit blowing thier collective wads on so-called CON-sultants, let thier PD's run the stations that cater to LOCAL tastes, pay talent what they're worth to keep them happy, let them do what they are hired to do which is inform and entertain instead of using the proverbial liner card choke chain and quit bumping up board ops to prime time without paying dues. Until they wise up and Siriusly(sic) attend to these issues XM and Sirius will continue to grow and kick the ever living %$#@ out of terrestrial Radio.

Hehe, guess I'll just keep my opinion out of this one. Still sucks. Grave is a good person and a talanted jock. He will find something else and move on. He's a soldier........god I'm white.
