I'd bet my last dollar on it!!! COX is'nt going to pay him a 6 figure salary and have him doing PM Drive on ONE STATION.

I find it very interesting that Cox, the center of the robojock universe, has now done an about face and hired strong personalities like Bubba and Grease.

Hell, forget about Cox, lets get Clear Channel to pick him up and put him on WTKS in the mornings!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then Dirty Jim and Drunky will be full-time employees of MCDONALD's!!!!!!!!!

;D

And you could be their shift manager DIZ Guy!

While you're at it, could you shut up about the Monsters and go check the fries?

I will NEVER shut up about the monsters....

That's a big assumption on your part that Grease is making a six figure salary. Remember, you're talking about a Cox market that can barely make enough money to pay the rent.

Speculation on DCRTV is that Greaseman will work out of his home in Potomac,Md. He has a full studio in his home. Also, there is speculation that he will continue his Saturday morning show on Dc101.

He had been buying time on an AM in the DC market for quite a while... so he may not in fact be making a ton of money at this.

COX=Voice Tracking...now THAT makes sense!

Grease is staying put in DC and doing both shifts for now.

Cox is learning that the robo jock thing doesn't really work all that well. Their radio cash flow is vaporizing and their TSLs are through the floor. They are awakening to the new/old reality of the business that personalities sell. If all you are doing is voicetracking you aren't trying to compete with iPods and Sirius, you are surrendering to them.

It's beyond that with Cox, it's not just VT'ing.... it's every station playing 200 songs, and calling themselves "new' for 7 years.... actually Orlando is one of their better markets with Star, Party and DBO. Tampa's much worse... hiring Bubba and Cow at 102.5 started their change of thinking.

Wouldn't it make sense for Cox to put the Cowhead show on afternoons in Orlando? Why didn't they do that in Jacksonville instead of Greaseman? Greaseman is terrible. He's like a bad joke.

Grease is a local legend in Jax.

I think this is as much about him trying to get back into mainstream radio as anything else. He was fired in DC for racially insensitive remarks and spent several years having to buy time on an AM that was Mexican the rest of the day. He finally got back onto DC-101 but only on the weekends; if he has some success here, and Cox can sell his show, he can then make the case that he's no longer too risky for another large-market gig.

Isn't Rock 105 still classic rock for the most part? If so, the target is 25-54.

The bigger issue is that the sponsors remember him. If Rock 105 can make money with him, it rehabs his image in the industry somewhat.
