Great DX Catch This Morning from Southern New England

I had my second best-ever southward catch on the FM dial this morning. From Narragansett, RI, I picked up 96.9 The Eagle/Jacksonville. My best catch from RI was WRMF/Palm Beach, in 1999. I love stations that identify their cities of broadcast in their sweepers. It makes DXing much easier.

Anyone else catch anything interesting fom the Northeast?

I've actually heard "96.9 The Eagle" (WJGL-FM) from Jacksonville a couple of weeks ago while at the Infocomm Convention in Orlando. Most of the time it was fairly strong, but then again I was on the 6th floor of my hotel (Quality Inn "Low Q") on I-Drive. I was also getting WINK-FM ("96.9 Wink-FM") from Fort Myers from time to time as well. Got a lot of Tampa stations too. There were some E-skip openings as well. Unfortunately, I was so bogged down with Convention stuff, I didn't have the time to really DX. BUT, a lot of stations from Kansas and Missouri were coming in like locals up and down the dial, even within the backyard of the Orlando towers. Now, if only I got some Boston area stations while being down south in Florida, that would have been a trip!

Tampa is actually a great spot for FM dx'ing, especially near the beaches of Clearwater and St. Petersburg. I have picked up Houston stations, as well as much of the Gulf Coast, from the Tampa area.

Jacksonville's FM stations do very well up the eastern seaboard. Apparently, they are regular visitors to North Carolina's Outer Banks. However, I have never caught anything from Jacksonville (or anywhere else for that matter) during my stays in Hatteras or Okracoke.
