Great E-SKIP FM DX Stuff on the Texas Board

Just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone who is not reading the Texas Board on radio-info.com.

A poster from Lubbock, Texas, known as EggsOverEasy87, has been scoring some really good E-skip on FM over the past few days and has the video to prove it. Check it out.

Nice work, Eggs!

Hey thx for the comment.

My reasoning for video taping my catches is that a couple of my friends have been fascinated by this particular phenomenon and have wanted to see it in action. And my dad didn't believe me when I told him where I was hearing stations from.

June and July are fun for stuff like this...unfortunately, since I live in an apartment and cannot afford the equipment (I'm a college student...which means I'm poor), I have to use my car.

Hopefully I'll be at the right place at the right time when conditions are that unusual again...and I will definitely keep the videos coming.

Thx again,

Eggs

Es and ducting is starting up as summer comes on.....(since there are NO sunspots, its not DX due to that!)...the 6mtr ham band has been opening on a regular basis.....NOW the record so far I have personally seen for FM DX is when I heard a Philly FM in Port Arthur TX 30 years ago (while in my car!)....it held for several hours in stereo....even went into a RS and dialed it up on a stereo there; freaking out the manager and the customers!! :)
More recently, 97.1 KEGL was heard in Mid Canada back in 2000 for several hours...saw the DX report and the engineer's response.....Still wating for the Calif signals to make it over the Rockies.....(still)

California DX happened to me when I lived in Alberta Canada, an hour east of the rockies. I used to get San Francisco FM regularly, clear as a bell for hours, and it probably happened once ever 2 weeks in the summer of 91 and 92.

I have noticed that the past several fronts and the weather has left most of the dry lines out towards Lubbok.  That could be a detrmining Factor to ! ! I remember when my sister went out there to Tech she was in her car this was back almost ten years ago, she was listening to her radio and a station clear out of Oklahoma took over the frequency I can't remember what frequency it was. I remember one time about six years ago I was listening to my radio at my place and was picking up 102.5 Lubbok instead of the usual KMAD that I'm use to picking up. And btw Great catches to Eggsover easy.
