Probably the one FM catch I still remember goes back to the early 1960's when I was just beginning to DX on FM using a table model FM-only Silvertone (sold by Sears) radio and experimenting with various things to use for an antenna. I wound up using a length of copper wire and running it to the attic of my house. Back then, of course, there were fewer FM stations on the band and not many with any great power. On several occasions, I picked up WKEE, 100.5-FM, from Huntington, West Virginia which was simulcasting its AM sister station which was at 800 k.c. It had a top 40 format and all of its I.D.'s referred to that 800 frequency. In using an AM radio, I never picked up the AM station, but that FM outlet came in loudly here several times.
