Hair pop metal and old school hard rock (which I am a fan of both) is a format that I think is largely overlooked. I know some critics like to dismiss the genre but the fact remains it has endured more than most other forms of rock. VH 1 Classic basically stays in existence because people still like seeing hair metal videos, hearing from old school hard rock artists, etc. I really think that format where you play nothing but the old school stuff and maybe throw in new songs by the older bands who rarely get airplay these days is one of the few formats not really tested in recent years. I think there is an auidence for it. It probably wouldn't be massive but you could get decent ratings and attract an auidence that has turned away from radio. I am talking about the the 30-45 year old. That age group doesn't completely care about a lot of the 70's classic rock (the 80's and early 90's is their era), yet are too old to care about the newer hard rock bands.
