GREAT NEWS! Monica is Gone!

Maybe some of you don't know who Monica Crowley is. For a long time she worked as an assistant to former President Nixon. She wrote at least 2 books about him and in my view, did a good job with them. I guess somewhere along the line she decided to become the latest Limbaugh clone and wannabe. Big promo efforts...she's going weekdays instead of just weekends. Now, the GREAT NEWS...she been DUMPED!
Allegedly she wants to give up her fulltime job to do other things. The truth is, as a Limbaugh clone she was and still is a failure. Her sexual innuendo, while could be considered "cute" the first or second time you heard them, are nothing but a bore. Her name calling of people she doesn't agree with, while sounding interesting the first or second time are nothing more than junior high school level trash. Like many of these clones, you listen for five minutes, you've heard the whole program. Monica is gone from weekdays...now lets wise up and get rid of her on weekends. Hey maybe she can get a job with a certain infomercial guy who was fined 120 million and barred from any further such schemes for a few years but now is back!

Ah. So if anyone else in this country gets laid off or fired... that's a bad thing, but if it's a conservative, it's a cause for celebration? Great compassion and open-mindedness I've come to expect, no doubt.

Oh, and regardless of who Monica Crowley is, likening her to Kevin Trudeau (who IS a scumbag and a crook) is way off-base and pathetic. And rooting for her firing is also completely tasteless. You think I'd do that to YOU?

Nathan:

Did you read what I wrote? Did you? Apparently you think I'm a liberal and I'm glad to see she's gone from fulltime? First off, many people are getting damned sick and tired of this conservative vs. liberal garbage which the media just loves. Secondly, most of my views are conservative in nature and have been for a long, long time even before Rush Limbaugh and his clones and wannabes. The whole point of the post is that I think her program is wasted airspace whether or not I agree with her. I cannot possibly think of a worst way to spend 3 or 4 hours than to listen to this woman's yapping and what she thinks is so-o-o hilarious, which she isn't. If they gave me 3 hours to sing, you'd be the first to call the station to get me off the air because I am simply no good. Giving this woman 3 seconds is too much!

Liberal-Dems should be more like Conservative-Repubs and not have much compassion for other people. That way they won't look like hypocrites.

Then Mike Malloy has a real head start. Opening encouraging Glenn Beck to commit suicide, live, on Fox News:

Obviously NO stink has been raised about it, because... well... no one listens to him.

My apologies. I did read what you wrote, and was trying to be tongue-in-cheek about it. I wasn't quick in looking at the follow-ups on this thread. That and not identifing it as satire is my fault. :-[

Can't say I ever caught her show to begin with... and I can't really remember hearing her fill-in for Laura Ingraham in the first place (who is far and away the best in the TRN stable... everyone else beyond Savage and Roy Masters is forgettable, IMO). Not remembering who one sounds like is basically a "vote of confidence."

Obviously anyone who would raise a stink would have to have amnesia about some of Glenn Beck's comments over the years... including the time he referred to the young children of Michael Schiavo
as little b****st*rds.

Monica Crowley is one of the panelists on PBS's Maclaughlin Group. She does very well on that show.
Monica can't get a word in edgewise with Eleanor Clift frothing at the mouth to interject her slant above everyone else on that panel. Love The MacLaughlin Group though. Been watching it since I was a teenager. BYE BYE!

I, for one, enjoyed listening to Monica in the late afternoons. I don't care for Hannity and Jerry Doyle (TRN's replacement feed for her) doesn't cut it either.

Interesting take, V, but I, for one, enjoyed Monica Crowley's show on WABC and syndicated on the weekends.

She had her targets (Hillary Clinton was in her scope as soon as the 2004 election was over) but also comes off as a fun loving woman who was as willing to discuss growing up listening to Duran Duran, doing a give-and-take with crude barbs from Don Imus that makes "Nappy Headed . . ." look like a compliment, or boosting the ego of the late, great Hannity caller "Marty" by asking him to marry her as she was to discuss conservative principles.

A Coulter or Limbaugh clone? Not unless all right-wing hosts are clones, and I don't think they are!

The problem wasn't with her talent- she had plenty.

The problem was she was trying to crack a lineup where the starting positions are already taken.

Not to mention that you coudn't see her beautiful blonde locks on the radio!!!

1. She still does a syndicated weekend show, on such stations as the aforementioned WABC. In fact, her show is on right now as I type this...

2. I think one problem Monica might exhibit (and it only shows if you listen to a LOT of talk radio shows) is that, compared to others, Monica tries way too hard. But it still is somewhat entertaining.
