GREAT NEWS ! WJIB ANNOUNCING SONG TITLES/ARTISTS

Turned on AM 740 WJIB today to hear Bob Bitner announcing the names and artists of the songs he is playing. He is also adding some background information such as the fact that the Beatles "Michelle" never made it on the charts.

Now, WJIB is even a greater alternative the boring "stuff" on AM radio and most of FM.

Congratulations to WJIB AM 740.

Yes, it's probably voicetracking, but at least it's not being done thousands of miles away and is being done by the person who is programming the automated music software to play partiucular songs at particular times.

Slightly off-topic: Although the Beatles' "Michele" was never released as a single in the United States, didn't it get released as a single in France at the beginning of 1966 and go on to become (at the time, and maybe still) the biggest-selling single in the history of the French record industry??

Do the French know that?? Think they would not be pleased. Mais non?

Also, Bob Bitner is the owner of WJIB I believe.

It may have been live. Bob comes in and DJ's live at times. If that was the case, the titles/artists may not be a full-time feature.

Unfortunately, you are correct. Bob announced the songs for about 30 minutes and then it went back toa automation.
