I guess it was because of the New Years Spirit but all the Spanish radio stations where like they say, they were Jamming. Xo 107.9 was playing Cumbias, and I mean Regional Mexican Cumbias, Party 93.3 was playing Spanish hip-hop and some regaton. Recuerdo was broadcasting live from on studio to all stations troughout the Country.

Crappy programming for everyone else. I'm a fan of Party, but as soon as any spanish hip hop or ragaeton came on, I'd definitly go to The Buzz. In radio you can't have your cake, and eat it too... because as soon as you dish out the chocolate cake to people who hate chocolate, they'll find the line for the vanilla cake.... I'm hungry.

Personally, I think The Box now has the edge in almost every aspect (and not just talking about signal issues). They sound better and fresh while Party sounds same old same old.

Ever heard of a Live remote from a local Club?
Speaking of which, I've noticed that in some remotes from clubs, XO has allowed the "N" word, the "B" word, and the "F" word to be thrown on the air in songs. Don't know if it is something they haven't noticed, but someone should really let them know that the Clubs' DJ's are not censoring the songs. Too bad I don't know anyone from LBI, or I would have phoned them a while back.

Are these broadcasts airing after 10PM, or does this happen during the early evening hours as well? If these unedited songs are airing between 10PM and 6AM, as long as the content does not rise to the level of obscenity rather than indecency, it is perfectly legal.

Of course, I don't think Liberman Broadcasting is too concerned when it comes to content. When I lived in Houston, I saw some pretty raunchy stuff on KZJL 61 during the daytime, as well as during the early evening hours. (One example being a show called Buscando Amor, which was basically a Spanish-language version of Blind Date; actually, this show usually made Blind Date look like Sesame Street!) And, no, I was not a regular KZJL viewer; KZJL was on cable channel 3 - the same channel I used for VCR output.

Not to mention the fact that KZJL regularly showed infomercials for the Girls Gone Wild videos as well.

I've seen that show too. If that kind of stuff aired on English TV, there would be emails and letters flying in with a call for boycotts. Spanish media can get away with a lot more I guess.

When the songs talk about *oe this and Bit** that (and the superv use of the F word), I think you can declare the song pretty offensive to the (according to the FCC) "public".

If you disliked KZJL by watching that show, then you haven't seen those other shows they have on the air. I remeber I was once flipping around the channels (over the air DX'ing) and stopped at 61 for about three seconds. Now, I could have sworn that a lady took her shirt off (this show I guess was Jerry Springer, but just LBI's version) and they did censor it, but call me a liar if you want, but the lady was jumping up and down, and the censor blurr was not. Now, I tried to make shure I was not DX'ing a Mexican TV station, but nope, It was KZJL "La raza TV"! This was back when LBI had just started with their programming. I don't know if they fixed the problem or not, but like their radio stations, I would assume they don't care.

Yes I remember that, when channel 61 had started Buscando Amor they showed a scene where this lady took of her shirt in a hot tub and it was sensord but you could still see her nipples.

I think the show you're talking about here is Jose Luis: Sin Censura, which is basically a Spanish-language version of Jerry Springer. I've stumbled on this show more than a few times as well. The female guests on this show always seemed to have a problem keeping their clothes on.

I actually thought about videotaping some of KZJL's programming and reporting them to the FCC myself, but never got around to it. Maybe if someone actually does, they'll get the message. (Jose Luis aired at 9:00PM back then, therefore making the indecent programming legally actionable.)

Yeah, it was a show with an audience that always screamed "mucha ropa" and at least a couple of women took their clothes off. I was DX'ing it a while back, so I don't remember exactly what time, but if you say 9, then it does fit my memory. A look at the Yahoo TV guide shows that this show (if it is indeed)"Jose Luis: Sin Censura" is currently scheduled at 5 PM so it is definitely breaking the FCC regulations.

Hopefully, someone will send this in to the FCC so LBI can get a reality check and start operating their Radio and TV stations correctly.

Done. Not that anyone cares after hearing "Woman to Woman" on S&P.
