Great Radio on 'KNR today

Gotta give 'KNR credit. On a day that saw the Indians return from the All Star break only two games out of the Wildcard, and the Browns make some signings, there's 'KNR devoting SEVEN hours of local programming to a kiddie golf tournament. Now, I'm all for giving the kids some coverage; they're amazing for their age. But in a town the size of this one, I cannot fathom how this can happen. Nothing like gearing up for the biggest homestand of the year hearing how a 14 year old works on their short game, or how a 16 year old nobody will ever hear of first got their love of the sport.

We've all bashed the station in the past, but I found today to be absolutely unlistenable. As if Brinda doing their weekly golf show isn't bad enough (where oh where is Dave Milo?), we had to put up with this. Pathetic....just pathetic.

a little bit would have been ok... i am just wondering if they get paid to advertise the tournament, and westfield>? that is a good way to earn a few bucks. they sure are not going broke giving away FREE WINGS ( a 6 dollar value) and making the biggest deal about it... at least we did not have to hear brinda whine about kids not playing baseball at the park. and with him doing interviews, there was less time to laugh at nothing, and make stupid comments, and disparage the callers.....

you could always listen to SportsTalkCleveland.com !!!!!

Belfi has really beefed up the station and imaging and it sounds GREAT with the programs on there.

No kiddie golf tournaments on there!

Brinda replaced Dave Milo on the golf show at the same time he lost the weekday 9a-12p slot with Kendall Lewis. Last I checked, Dave hasn't been at 850 since. He did host a brokered show (what isn't) on sister station WHK/1420 about law enforcement for a few weeks, but that's it...

What else do you expect from SportsCrud 850 WKNR? "Where we Always talk Sports. Always."

I wondered what the heck WKNR was doing. I have absolutely no interest in golf. I could watch the golf channel at home if I wanted golf.

Most sports fans care about baseball, football, and basketball...primarily their local pro teams....a number of people like college sports (mainly football).

WKNR lost me today. BORING! I hope they made lots of money...because I'll bet they ran off a good number of their core listeners...at least for today.

While internet radio is OK...when I'm in my car all day...I need regular radio. And, no...I'm not going to pay for satellite radio to hear non-local sportstalk on one of their national-focused sports channels. Who cares what's going on with sports teams in markets other than your own?

Supposedly Dave Milo is still bartending in the Akron area (Norton) restaurant/bar he's worked at for years on Saturday evenings. Dave's a good guy.

Dave Milo

"Call the Cops" moved to 1220. According to whkwradio.com it is om Sunday's 3 to 4 pm.
